The Armed Forces Covenant is a promise on behalf of the UK that people who serve or have served in the Armed Forces, and their families, are treated fairly.
The Covenant states that the Armed Forces community should not face any disadvantages compared to other members of the community when accessing Council and NHS services. It also says that the Council and NHS should give you special consideration when required, such as for injured or bereaved people.
Newham Council signed up to the Armed Forces Covenant in 2012 and continues to commit to the Covenant.
