Support for Carers
Caring for someone can be challenging and stressful. It’s important that you look after your wellbeing as a carer and to know who you can go to for support when you need help.
Who is a carer?
The Newham Carers Strategy defines a carer as an individual aged five and over who provides unpaid care and support to a parent, partner, child, relative, friend or neighbour who cannot manage without their help due to a disability/impairment, ill health, frailty or substance misuse. This includes:
- Adult Carers
- Parent Carers
- Mutual Carers
- Sandwich Carers
- Young Carers
- Young Adult Carers
- Former Carers
